Play a Competitive Game Together

Activity 21

We played a cooperative game in Activity 13. That showed us how we work together. Now we play a competitive game to see how we handle pressure, disagreement, and the possibility of losing. These are the dynamics that surface in real work but are hard to discuss directly.

Theory

A bit of competition reveals how you handle pressure and ambition. Observe your reactions when it gets tight. Talk openly afterward about team dynamics and emotions.

Kapitel 4 emphasizes that self-reflection, feedback, and conflict handling are the practices that sustain personal relationships — and competition creates a concentrated version of all three. When the stakes are mild but real, you can observe how you and your teammates respond to pressure, whether someone dominates, checks out, or becomes defensive. Building on the trust established in Activities 1–4 and the self-awareness developed through Levels 2 and 3, the game becomes diagnostic rather than threatening. The debrief afterward is essential: naming what you noticed turns a playful experience into genuine insight about team dynamics.

Outcomes

I see how competition reveals team dynamics that cooperation alone cannot surface.

Reflection Questions

  • How did I behave when the stakes were higher and someone could lose?
  • Did I notice any defensiveness, either in myself or others?
  • What did this game reveal that the cooperative game in Activity 13 did not?
