Us in Five Sentences

Every team needs a way to talk about itself that goes beyond job titles and org charts. Five sentences forces you to distill who you are into something sharable. The identity work from Activities 9-12 prepared you for this — you already explored what makes each of you distinctive. Now you do it collectively.

Theory

A condensed description of your identity. Discuss what makes you special, what you contribute, what you stand for. The sentences serve as guiding stars for future decisions.

Language constructs team reality, and the act of articulating who you are together is a form of collective sensemaking. Shared understanding reduces uncertainty and grows trust — when everyone can describe the team in roughly the same way, implicit assumptions become explicit and negotiable. The five sentences you produce are not a polished mission statement but a living identity marker, one you can revisit whenever the team faces a fork in the road. This builds on the cultural clarity you began developing in Activity 25, where the photo gave you a visual anchor for team identity.
