Activity 37
By Level 10, a team has built enough trust and coordination to do something meaningful together beyond their usual work. A volunteering activity tests everything you have learned. It asks you to organize, communicate, and show up for something that does not produce profit or deliverable. That is a different kind of commitment, and it reveals character.
Shared prosocial activity creates bonds that ordinary team tasks cannot. Research on collective effcacy shows that teams who accomplish something meaningful together develop a deeper sense of "we can handle hard things." The activity does not need to be grand. A park cleanup, a morning at a food bank, or building something for a local school all work. What matters is that the team plans it together, shows up together, and reflects on it afterward. Everything you built since Level 1, from the trust exercises in Activities 1 through 4 to the coordination skills in Activities 17 through 22, makes this possible. This task is not a reward for getting to Level 10. It is a practice that asks the team to use everything they have learned in a context where the stakes are human, not procedural.
Outcomes
I understand how shared purpose outside daily work strengthens a team's sense of meaning.
