Create a Team Glossary

Teams talk past each other constantly because they assume shared meaning where none exists. "Done" means different things to different people. "Urgent" carries different weights. This task surfaces those hidden disagreements before they cause damage.

Theory

Collect jargon, abbreviations, and inside words. This builds shared understanding and helps new colleagues get up to speed faster.

Kapitel 3 argues that language constructs the team's world and that shared understanding reduces uncertainty. A glossary is sensemaking made tangible: when you write down what "ready for review" actually means, you eliminate an entire category of miscommunication before it causes damage. Building on the listening skills from Activity 14 and the shared vocabulary that emerged through your experiences in Levels 1–3, this exercise gives that vocabulary a permanent, agreed-upon home. The conversation itself is the valuable part — when two people discover they meant different things by the same word, they have just prevented a future conflict.
