Activity 40
A team does not truly know itself until it has been stressed. This retrospective asks for honesty about behavior when things got hard, not as a blame exercise, but as a mirror. By Level 10, the team has enough safety to do this. Earlier, it would have been too fragile.
Pressure reveals patterns that calm moments hide. Some people withdraw. Some push harder. Some become rigid. Some avoid decisions. The biographical context work from Activities 31 and 32 helps explain why each person reacts the way they do, but explanation is not the same as impact. This retrospective focuses on the gap between intention and effect. You did not mean to shut someone down. But you did, and the team felt it. The empathy practices from Activities 14 and 15 and the active listening from Activity 13 give the team tools for this conversation. The difference at Level 10 is that you can use those tools under emotional load, not just in a calm exercise. This is a maturity milestone. You are no longer practicing skills in a safe container. You are using them when it matters, with real stakes and real feelings involved.
Outcomes
I can honestly assess how my behavior changes under stress and how that affects the people around me.
